The plasma potential, electron temperature and density distributions in the technological plasma generator was measured using the probe method. The main parameters of plasma were determined using the fluid model. Qualitative and quantitative correspondence was obtained between the calculated and experimental data within the error of the probe measurement method. A comparison of the experimental and calculated results of current density distribution along the cathode-target was conducted. The possibility of using fluid model for quantitative and qualitative determination the profile of the erosion zone of the cathode target. The possibility of the liquid model application is shown for the quantitative and qualitative determination of the cathode erosion profile.
