Structure of exist electric power supply units for electric propulsion is analyzed in the paper. The power unit scheme, which provides direct electric power supplying from solar battery to the thruster, is proposed. The possibility of Hall Effect type thruster SPT-20 direct power supplying from high voltage solar battery (HVSB) is theoretically validated and experimentally demonstrated. It is experimentally verified that characteristic of SPT-20, which is directly supplying form HVSB, are not differ from thruster’s characteristics, which is supplying from standard power unit. It is demonstrated that developed complex (SPT-20 + HVSB) has possibility to start up with standard cathode and anode mass flow rates without any problems and doesn’t afraid short circuit in anode line.
